Hi, do you need to apply for financial aid? I know it can be a little bit overwhelming. So I'm here to help. First we'll start with the FAFSA. This is your gateway to the Federal Financial Aid, and you should only complete it at the official website: www.fafsa.ed.gov. Both you and your parent will need an FSA ID to sign the FAFSA, and it can be requested online at www.fsaid.ed.gov. When filling out your FAFSA, you'll need the school code. Remember to list Augusta University as your institution of choice using the school code: 001579. The FAFSA will generate a Student Aid Report or SAR. Carefully read the instructions and check for accuracy. Make any necessary corrections. You don't need to submit the SAR to the Office of Student Financial Aid. After your application has been completed, allow five to seven days for processing. During this time, you'll want to check POUNCE to see if you have any outstanding requirements that could delay your awards. You will also need a check POUNCE to see if you have been selected for verification. If you have been randomly selected for verification, review the additional required documents and submit them to the Office of Student Financial Aid. Submit these documents as soon as possible, since processing time can take up to two weeks. After your aid has been processed, check POUNCE again to accept your financial aid award package. You can also accept or decline any loans on POUNCE. Did you know financial aid can be used for more than just tuition and fees? It can be used for supplies, books, room and board, meal plans and more. Are you feeling less overwhelmed? Let's recap. File your fafsa@www.fafsa.ed.gov. Get your FSA ID from www.fsaid.ed.gov. Use school code: 001579 to send your application to Augusta University. Check POUNCE to see if you are selected for verification. And finally, accept your awards, or accept, or decline lens on POUNCE. If you have some troubles, the Office of Student Financial Aid has counselors who can help you. You can make an appointment drop by, call, or email. Thanks for spending this time with me, and I hope I've helped. See you around campus and go Jag!
