CURS is a great opportunity for people who want to advance within their field, go into graduate school, or just get credentials that will be necessary for future opportunities within their career path. I was afraid of science. I thought that that was something that those people do that I didn't really fit in. And that was definitely not the case at all. I feel more confident in my ability to communicate with other people in different fields because I was able to see what CURS has to offer. Because of CURS, I have done like multiple things which I couldn't have done by myself. CURS helped with the financial as well as a grant which your PI applies for, and then we got that funding. And through that funding, I got to go to different conferences and present my work and that was paid by CURS. The most interesting CURS presentations, when we do our round bags at the end of the summer is usually the ones that aren't within my field of expertise. The marketing research and the historic research that has gone on in the CURS program has all been super interesting. CURS will give you opportunities that can be reflected on your resume. It will give you something to talk about when you go on interviews and CURS will let you have that networking that will help you with recommendation letters and everything else. The culture of CURS is very inclusive, you definitely have a family. Wherever you go people know and can trust that you know what you're doing because you have that affiliation with CURS. To say that I had the foresight and the drive to go in when I was just going into college, and start doing research is to show that the people that are looking at your graduate school application that you are a person worth investing into. And so I would totally recommend going into CURS as soon as possible.
